Thursday Treats – April Showers, May Flowers 4/25
April showers bring May flowers… we’ve all heard the saying. I couldn’t find a definitive source for it though. I found a poem by Thomas Tusser in 1610, “Sweet April showers, Do spring May flowers” and a bit from a song from the 1920’s “Though April showers may come your way, they bring the flowers that bloom in May. So if it’s raining, have no regrets. Because it isn’t raining rain, you know. It’s raining violets.”
