Miscellaneous Monday – Happy Cat Month and Black Cat Awareness
Happy Monday, everyone!
Today is the last day of September, which also happens to be Happy Cat Month.
They’re fuzzy, they’re adorable, they invade our lives and take complete command of it and we are their willing slaves. Of course we’re talking about that most amazing house pet, the cat.
These animals have lived alongside humans for almost as long as dogs, and have served purposes as important. From companionship to pest control, they’ve been a wonderful addition to our lives, and Happy Cat Month celebrates all they’ve done, and reminds us of what we should do to make sure we have a happy cat.
To make it even better, October is Black Cat Awareness Month!
There are many superstitions surrounding the feline with sable fur, and the one stating that your luck is going to have a downward turn if you have one walk in front of you is the most prevalent. We would like to remind you, however, that Groucho Marx has the right of it. All it means when a black cat walks in front of you is that the animal is clearly going somewhere, and should either be pet, fed treats, or left well enough alone. None of these choices is going to have an effect on your luck, one way or another, and that’s just one message being touted by International Black Cat Awareness Month.
So, of course, I HAD to focus on cats for my post today. Our community is full of animal lovers, and there’s no shortage of gorgeous layouts that feature our furry friends. I went strolling through the gallery and chose a handful of layouts that put the spotlight on some of our favorite felines. Here’s what I found:
