Happy Friday y’all! Who has been playing along in our Sweet Sixteen Celebration activities? So hard to believe that we have been around that long! I remember when SSD first opened it’s doors. I remember how exciting it was. We are so glad you’re here making memories with us! And you know who else we’re so happy to have here with us? This week’s featured designer, Amber of Southern Serenity Designs.
Keeping with the festive spirit in mind of our big birthday, our designers decided that a year long celebration of everything that makes our lives special would be the perfect way to keep the party going, so Celebrate YOU! is the theme that will be inspiring our Featured Designer freebies this year! From your job, to your school, to your favorite holidays and more, we’re celebrating all of life’s memorable moments this year, and Amber’s template collection is perfect! I love the little cauldron and black kitty. You could totally use this for Halloween too if you wanted. But I think this could really be customized to work for any theme. Now you know we love to interview our designers, so let’s get to that portion of our post.
What is your favorite thing to “celebrate”? Is it your birthday? Christmas? Something else?
That would have to be Halloween! It is my favorite holiday and I am also really into dark and alternative or goth things, so it’s pretty much Halloween every day at my house!
If you could choose a theme song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Definitely the song “Shadow Moses” by Bring Me The Horizon
Do you like to scrapbook? How often do you get around to it?
I LOVE LOVE to scrapbook! It is my most favorite hobby and totally my therapy. I can be as creative as I want and there is no limit to what I can layer on my page. I also really love that I can scrap my feelings and thoughts through my art journaling, and I can create wonderful memories and keepsakes for my family too. Unfortunately, I don’t seem to find much time these days. Well, that’s not entirely true. I have time, but I always seem to find myself working on new templates or reading.
Do you have an all-time favorite kit or product? Share it! Even if it’s been retired.
Honestly, I have to say that my favorite product of my own is definitely my newest template set, Your Spirituality. I created this set for our “Celebrate YOU” series, and they are very special to me. My own spiritual journey has been amazing and it is a huge part of who I am. If you didn’t know, I am a proud Pagan hedge witch. Hedge witch basically means that I use herbalism for both medicinal and spiritual purposes, and most of my work takes place in my kitchen and involves my home, which is my sacred space. I also am very into using crystals and astrology in my practices as well. I tried very hard to convey a lot of that while still allowing you to use the templates for any theme you wish. I feel like I did a really great job, and I am so proud of this set!
What are you reading?
I’m just starting Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody. I have no idea what it’s about, but it’s been on my TBR list for a while so I’m pretty excited!
