I’m happy to welcome you all to another Featured Designer Friday post and it will be our last one in the Celebrating You series! Who better to close that the series than Ru aka Studio Basic Designs! I’m sure that most our other teammates would agree, when you think of Ru, all you can do is smile! She is our resident cheerleader and there is no one quite like her or her designs for that matter, completely unique and that’s what makes them so special!

“An introduction about WHY you wanted to celebrate”
It is just so easy to get all busy and running with so many tasks we have every day and I am 100% on board with making time to just stop everything and enjoy the little things in life, things that will make us happy and “recharge” to keep going when life gets all busy and difficult again.
What is your favorite thing to “celebrate”?
After the year we had last year, no doubt, my favorite thing to celebrate is the HERE, the NOW. It is all we have in life. No matter how simple a moment looks like, be 100% on it because you will never get this moment again and, years from that, this is the moment that will put a smile on your face.
It is easy to celebrate big dates. Between our routines, we need to understand that the simple things in life are the ones that stick with us.
Do you like to scrapbook? How often do you get around to it?
I L.O.V.E to scrapbook. It used to be a real therapy for me. I would take every Friday morning to just make a page using my new release and “sense” how my kit was after I finished it. I don’t scrapbook much more right now, I am still dealing with a different routine and life, but it is on my plans to get back to that routine. ASAP. I miss it! 🙂
Do you have an all-time favorite kit or product? Share it! Even if it’s been retired.
My new favorite (because yes, it changes! LOL) is the
Take The Picture Collection. I love the soft colors and the reason why I made this kit.
After losing my husband I noticed how I would love to have even more photos (and videos) of him, with him, from him. So, yes, since last year I have been trying to take more pics and videos.
Before “Take The Picture” my favorite was
“I Wish You…” and, again, because of the reason I made it. It was TOTALLY inspired by a song (I WISH YOU LOVE (TRADUÇÃO) – Rachael Yamagata) and every time I listen to it, it makes me think about my son. 🙂
What are you reading?
I am reading a new to me author. One of my “book friends” told me to read this book (we love some “slow burn” books like the ones Marina Zapata writes) and I started it last night.
It is called A Love Letter to Whiskey, by Kandi Steiner. Let’s see if it is good. 🙂
What other hobbies do you have?
I must admit I don’t have much other than reading and watching [too much] TV, but I want to start making real life messes, papers and collages. Also I want to knit again. I used to do it when I was younger and it was sooo fun! I am not that good, but at least it is fun. I need fun in life! lol
