Featured Designer 15 – LJS Designs
Happy Friday y’all! I hope you’ve been able to stay cool from the heat if you’ve been in those area with all this record breaking weather! It’s been pretty mild here in my part of Michigan, which is weird. Did you pick up Lorie aka LJS Designs’ featured designer kit, Seas the Day, yet? I keep hoping to find a chance to scrap, but so far, it hasn’t happened! Summer is such a slow scrapping time for me! But I still love to shop, so let’s get to all the goodies that Lorie will have for you in her featured designer 15 sale that starts officially on Tuesday! We have some beautiful layouts that Lorie to share with us that really show off some of these products that will be on sale next week. She also included a why she picked that, which I love hearing from the designers what draws them to layouts in the galleries or from their team using their products. I find it so interesting. Let’s see what she had to say.
Lorie: Christmas is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. I think most of the fun happens during the preparations, the work, which is what inspired this kit. Seeing a page that showcases one of those moments I had in mind while I was designing is very rewarding.
Lorie: When I make a kit, I try to think of multiple ways it can be used. Technically Scaredy Cat is a Halloween kit, but I added pieces to it that could be used for a more general cat layout like this one by Romajo. A page like this makes me feel that I accomplished my goal. Also, her cat is adorable.
Lorie: I spend a lot of time on my papers, so I love it when a layout, like this one by ~Cindy~, showcases so many of them in such a beautiful way. She also included word art items, the sign and pocket card, which are my favorite things to do, so I am always happy when I see them being used.
Lorie: This one is very special to me because I created it in memory of my parents. They were ordinarily amazing people who both passed away young after long illness and I still think about them every day. As their caregiver, I was left with a lot of sad memories of them at the end. Thankfully, with the passage of time, those memories have faded. Now when I think of my parents, I think of them young and healthy and those memories lift me up. This kit embodies that feeling and the idea that I carry them with me everyday. I hardly ever scrap these days, no time, but I had to use this one to create this page about my folks.
Lorie: Someone once said that the only way we can improve the world is through our children, so I love that Scrap-therapy’s daughter is a feminist who stand up for little girl’s rights. I like the clever placement of the card on the layout and that she used it to carry her story. Of course, her daughter’s hand on her hip, really makes the page and tells a story of it’s own. Girl Power!
My goodness y’all! Lorie has included kits for every season and things for in between! You should be all set if you need to stock up for some fall scrapping! Mouse Trip and Scaredy Cat are a couple of my personal favorites, but there are a few that I need to use. Don’t forget, her sale starts officially on Tuesday!
