February 14: Ferris Wheel Day
Hello sweet scrappers!
Today we celebrate Valentine’s Day, but in addition to the traditional holiday of love, it’s National Ferris Wheel Day. (Who knew?!) I did a little internet sleuthing and discovered that the Ferris wheel was created as centerpiece at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition (known as the World’s Fair) in Chicago. George Washington Ferris created that first Ferris wheel so that it stood 26 stories tall and it brought in over $725,000 to the fair! (That’s a whole lotta of rides!) Today the Ferris wheel is as popular as ever!
I took a little trip through the shoppe and found some awesome kits perfect for documenting carefree, fun times and the bright lights of carnivals, fairs, boardwalks and amusement parks. The kits are all so bright and happy, they would really be perfect scrapping any sort of happy-go-lucky day you want to document. I have also grabbed a few awesome layouts to share that I hope will be inspiring to you!
