Featured Designer – Digital Scrapbook Ingredients
Happy Friday Sweet Shoppers! I hope you had a great week. Summer is winding down – and it’s my little girl’s 8th birthday today! We are doing a party later in September when she can invite her school friends too, but we are celebrating with cake today.
Today we have a new Featured Designer, Willemijne of Digital Scrapbook Ingredients. Willemijne’s style is so distinctive, and her kits are filled with fantastic papers and elements that cover pretty much any theme of photos that you could think of. I love the colours she chooses and the textures and gradients of the papers. Her titles are always so great too to use, such an easy and fun way to top off your pages!

Tell us about your journey with digital scrapbooking… How did you find out about it? Did you start with paper first? How did you get started designing? Where was your first shop? How and when did you end up at Sweet Shoppe Designs?
I found out about the concept of scrapbooking through a friend who had made a holiday album that she ‘decorated’. I loved the idea so much that I started making an album for our trip to Morocco straight away! After that I found out about digital scrapbooking and really liked the idea. I started designing pretty soon as I was drawn to making all the pretty things myself! I started with my own website first but Sweet Shoppe Designs had always been my dream store so I was over the moon when I became a designer here in 2015! And I am still so very happy to be here!
Where do you find inspiration for a new kit or template?
Lots of different ways and places! Sometimes it’s a walk through nature, or it can be just a combination of colors I see somewhere or a certain setting I am in. I also can get really inspired by words/titles and get a certain feeling that that would be my next subject.
How do you keep your collections fresh and new for themes that are done again and again like holidays, weddings, scrapbooking, etc.?
For things like Christmas I try to find a theme within a theme, so not just a general Christmas kit with all things in there but for example last year I made a collection with one kit specific for baking, one for visits with Santa and markets etc and one more for Christmas at home:
Are you an adventurous person? What has been your greatest adventure?
I wouldn’t describe myself as adventurous as I am actually very careful with lots of things, but I do like to go out and explore. Moving to Australia has been one of my biggest adventures for sure!
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done recently?
Hiking to a waterfall on our recent holiday to Greece! It was really hot and a bit slippery and there were lots of rocks to climb to get to the waterfall and our boy was with us as well!
If you had an hour to yourself, but were not allowed to use it to scrapbook or design, what would you spend the hour doing?
Watch Netflix! I love just relaxing and watching a Netflix show.
If you could go on a date but only had $25 to spend, where would you go?
Go on a hike and bring a little picnic. We actually did this quite often in Australia. It’s easy there as it’s just such a beautiful country! There are plenty of beautiful spots here in The Netherlands as well but in a different way. I loved the rugged coastline in Australia and all the National Parks!
I think I might have to agree with Willemijne with the Netflix show when you have an hour to yourself – that is one of my favourite ways to chill as well.
