Sweet Talk with: MirandaB
Hey everyone, Sweet Talk is back for 2024 with a slightly new format but the same awesome goal. Getting to know YOU, our amazing community members. Once a month we will indulge in some “sweet talk” and have some fun getting to know you all a little bit better.
“Getting to know a diverse group of people leads to a better understanding of yourself.” — Alexander Den Heijer
Without further ado let’s dive into this month’s Sweet Talk interview with an amazing community member: MirandaB
Welcome to Sweet Talk, give us a short introduction of yourself/family and how you found digital scrapbooking.
My name is Miranda Barten, I live in the south of the Netherlands, close to the beach, with my husband and 2 adult children. We have 2 Bernese Mountaindogs. I work as a safetymanager in petrochemical industries for a Portugese company in Belgium. Few times in the week I work in the field, the rest of the time I work from home. My hobbies: photography, reading, digiscrap, gardening.
Answer a few fun questions for us.
- Give us [3] must haves for the layouts you create? Flowers, ribbons, buttons
- When is your prime scrapping time? Mornings, I first start up some daily tasks for my work and then I start a layout. During the day I work and scrap at the same time. I hardly scrap in the evenings, I am too tired in the evenings.
- What is your favorite thing to snack on when scrapping? No snacks but my latte’s…I can drink Latte (with syrup’s) all day…
- Go to your gallery, what is the date and title of your very first layout here at SSD? My very first layout was dated February 27th, 2016. I was in the CT of Cornelia Designs at that time, and right after that, I started in Blagovesta’s team.
- Dig in your stash and show (or tell) us a kit/product from your favorite designer here at SSD and why? I love so many kits but ‘Mrs. Claus Bakery’ from Kristin Cronin-Barrow is one of my favorites. I love the colors, the baking elements and everything from this kit.
- In honor of our This or That challenge system taking its bow answer a Fast Five This-or-That: (use bold or underline)
Templates or Freestyle
Patterns or Solids
Journaling or Word Strips
Minimal or Clustered
Lots of Photos or Photoless
And of course, please share with us your favorite layouts featuring the below & tell us why you chose them:
- •a cool technique
I love this page because I made the pictures myself (it was not a filter or whatsoever) and I was very proud when it was finished. - •your favorite element(s)
This page is so typically me..I think people recognize the style without seeing my name. - •your choice
I made this layout when I just finished my treatments against cancer, I think this page looks very hopeful and positive and I look strong!
Before you go, share with us a favorite tip you’ve learned over the years: Take part of challenges because you are forced out of your comfort zone, and sometimes you have to learn new techniques to play along..which is a positive thing.
Thanks so much MirandaB it’s been so much fun learning more about you. Until next time, happy scrapping. xo Kiana
