Happy Friday Sweet Shoppers! It’s hard to believe that March is nearly over. I’m looking forward to warmer weather coming up in April and all the outdoor things that come with some better weather! What are you looking forward to for April?
Today I get to show you a sneak peek of the 15 products that Lorie of LJS Designs has picked for her Featured Designer 15 sale starting this Tuesday April 1st. Lorie found these great pages in the gallery to inspire you – and she’s made some great notes on why she picked these pages!
From Lorie: I created the kit she used, I Will Remember You, in memory of my parents, so all the layouts created with it are very special to me. I love this page by loriguad because the “lightheartedness” of the photo mixed with this “memorial” kit tells a story about both the heartbreak of loss and the joy of lasting friendship. The composition and clustering are beautiful, but it is her journaling that touches me the most. Not only are her words poignant, but the use of the dark font against the lightness of everything else, emphasizes her grief. Finally, I like the layout because I think scrapping your grief is both therapeutic and a great way to preserve your loved one’s memory. After all, as long as someone is remembered, they live on.
From Lorie: I love this layout by scrappinnewbie and think the use of a boy’s birthday kit to scrap Gigi’s birthday lets the viewer know that she is young at heart; something that is further supported by those fabulous photos. The layout is playful, joyful and full of love and laughter, which makes it the perfect birthday page.
From Lorie: This layout by Lidia G is a favorite because it is the perfect grandma layout. I love that the neutrality of the kit allowed her to scrap about all 3 of her grandchildren, 2 boys and a girl, on one layout. I think her choices of papers and elements are spot on and that she created beautiful clusters while still keeping the focus on the photos. Finally, I love the use of the singular title “You are my fave” to describe the equal, all encompassing love she has for all three babies. Like I said, perfect grandma layout.
From Lorie: Here is another grandma page that caught my eye. I love the composition and the way your eye moves around the page. I adore the photos and think her clustering/shadowing is beautiful.
From Lorie: I think simple pages can sometimes be overlooked, but this one by Ginette caught my eye right away in the gallery. I love the composition and the photos, but I especially love her use of the cow element. The size and placement draw your eye to it first, then it guides you into the rest of the layout, which is simply beautiful.
