Featured Scrapper – Julie Barriball

I’ve known Julie (mrs2a50) around the digi world for several years and I’ve always been a fan of her style. To me it’s just classic and if you took a peek into my favorites you would find many of Julie’s layouts there. She has an amazing way of giving her dogs personality through her pages and her photos are always fantastic!

Here’s a little more about Julie.

SSD2 150x200

I first formally started  with digi-scrapping around late 2003 I think (wow, that’s 6 years – amazing!) My program of choice is Microsoft Digital Image Pro. It’s what I learned on, and I haven’t been able to make myself branch out. Creature of habit I guess! I have PSCS2, but I don’t scrap with it. I do use it for photo editing occasionally. I currently CT for The Lilypad, Gina Miller, Libby Weifenbach and Kristen Rice.

1. What is the most challenging part of scrapbooking for you?

Keeping my page just for me – I tend to want to highlight the kit for CT purposes, but my favorite pages are the ones I’ve done exactly how I want to and not worried about anything else.

2. Do you begin a page with an idea in place or do you design as you go?

Normally I just design as I go. Sometimes I’ll start with an idea, but usually it evolves into something totally different!

3. Which aspect of scrapping do you think you are best at?

I hope I do a good job of highlighting my photos – my favorite part of my pages are my pictures, so I want a good balance between picture and elements.

4. What is your favorite snack? Sweet or salty?

Both – I love yogurt or chocolate covered pretzels!

I also asked Julie to share 3 of her own favorite layouts and tell us what she loves about them…

On The Hunt

I love how the colors of Libby’s kit go with the colors in the photo. Plus, I love that photo – I don’t get a lot of pictures of them together and standing still, so I was excited about this one!

Flushing Birds

Again, mostly the photos. I love her wrinkled forehead while she’s searching the brush for birds. Plus, I love the stamp frames in Cori’s kit and the little pops of yellow.

Sunny Personality

I just love it! How is that sweet face not a favorite? I’m also a big fan of Nikki’s kits, and I love how the colors of the kit go with the photo, and her elements cluster wonderfully.
