Featured Staffer 12/17 – Traci Reed
Happy happy Friday sweeties!! Can you believe it’s almost here? Just over a week until Christmas!! Hard to believe the season is almost over – it seems like it just got here!!
Boy, do I have a treat for you!! We’re featuring our very sweet Traci Reed as our featured staffer today!! She has been designing for nearly seven years now!! She uses Adobe CS4 Suite.
It’s always fun to see what products are a designer’s favorite, so I’ve asked Traci to share three of hers with me!
My favorite kits are always very recent. I think I grow and get better with every product I make, so I don’t keep a favorite for very long – they’re always being replaced!! These three products because they were made with specific purposes in mind that are special to me.
I made Monkeying Around for my son Josiah since I have so many pictures of him hanging off of things like the little monkey he is!
I made Haven’t Met Him Yet for my son who is yet to be born. I wanted a kit about pregnancy that was mommy centric instead of baby centric so I could scrap my own photos.
I made My Other Loves with Heather Roselli to not only fulfill a request in the community but also because I have so many non-scrap projects going undocumented that I really wanted a beautiful kit to scrap them all with!
How did you get started designing?
I started designing a long time ago when Digiscrapping was very new and the market was still very small. I started making freebies for different challenges at Scrapbook-Bytes and then started selling a short time later. I started two websites and sold at three other sites before settling in at the Sweet Shoppe. I’ve been here for three years now.
What is your best-selling product?
My Bad Sewing Machine line is by far my greatest seller. Everybody loves stitches and there is something for everyone with this line. The Don’t Be a Square sets do the best!!
What is your favorite part of the design process?
Choosing themes and colors, brainstorming elements, papers, etc. I like really having a plan so that I can make life easier and design more quickly. It’s easier to put more effort into designing when you know where you’re going with it.
Do you have any other hobbies outside of designing and scrapping?
Yes!! I knit, crochet, sew, cook, read and a lot more!!
