365 Days of Bliss: Desserts, what is more blissful than that!!
Hey all, Melissa here to talk about my favorite subject, food. My favorite kind dish is desserts. I love to make them and of course I love to eat them. So I thought it would be fun to share a couple quick and easy delish recipes. First up is a yummy recipe for Cherry Trifle.
2 1/4 cups, cold milk, divided
1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix
1 container of cool whip
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 angel food cake
2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
3/4 cup chocolate syrup
1/2 cup flaked coconut, toasted
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
In mixing bowl, combine 1 3/4 cups of milk and the pudding mix. Beat on low speed for 2 minutes or until thickened. Cut cake into 1/2 in. cubes; place half in a 3 quart glass bowl. Sprinkle with 1 Tablespoon cherry juice. Top with half of the pie filling, half of the pudding and 1/4 cup of chocolate syrup. Repeat layers. Top with whipped cream and remaining syrup. Sprinkle coconut and almonds. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Yield: 12-15 servings. Calories, you don’t wanna know!!
Next one I have for ya is a family favorite of ours and so easy to make. This recipe actually comes from the Duggar Family of the show 19 kids and counting.
12 ice cream sandwiches
1 container cool whip
2 king size butterfinger candy bars (crushed)
Caramel Syrup
Chocolate Syrup
Line 9×13 pan with a layer of ice cream sandwiches. Cover with a layer of cool whip. drizzle caramel and chocolate syrup over cool whip, sprinkle 1 candy bar on top, repeat layers. Place in freezer for at least 4 hours. That’s it, easy squeezy!! My oldest son requests this for his birthday cake each year.
That is all from me this time. Hope you have fun making and eating these wonderful and tasty desserts!!

I made the Butterfinger dessert yesterday for my Church small group. It was easy peasy and everyone liked it. Thanks for the recipe! I think it would be fab using Snickers bars too!
