365 Days of Bliss – Why do I scrapbook.

This is Sugi here with my first post. Today i am going to share with you all the reasons why I scrap.

It started with my obsession to document life and events in my life and not to mention all the pretties that called out my name in craft stores. I did not want to lock away  all the memories that we made collecting dust or stored away in a shoe box. I wanted to preserve a legacy of my family’s rich and fascinating history so the future generations would be able to look back and understand the world now and the lives before us.

Scrapbooking is also an ideal creative outlet for all ages.I love the idea of adding a personal touch of spunk to the memories. Being creative gives me a sense of pride and healthy self-esteem. It is a fun and relaxing hobby as well.

When I sit with my son flipping through all the incredible memories and laughing silly at some of the stories the pictures triggered i realized the importance of scrapbooking lies in the why and not the how.

Tell us why you scrapbook and what inspired you to start or go an extra step and make a layout and link it in the comments:)
