Memory Lane Monday – Libby Pritchett 9/7

We are back with our Featured Designer, Libby Pritchett, and seeing how her designing style has changed over the years. Libby went above & beyond when I asked for old previews & gave me background on all of the ones she sent me. How awesome is that? I love knowing why designers make certain kits or why they chose the colors they did. How they’re constantly inspired fascinates me. First, here’s some background on her.

“I started designing in May 2008.  At the time, I was working full time as an orthodontic assistant, and it was requiring far too much time away from my family.  I had been a paper scrapper for 10 years and had been digi scrapping since 2006, so designing seemed like the next natural step. I sent my first kits to Robin here at SSD, and she was so sweet to offer me some constructive criticism.  She presented my formal application to the team less than a month later, and I opened my store here on July 5, 2008!  I left my job in dentistry and never looked back!”

Let’s take a look at her older kits! These aren’t in order but you’ll see some great progression from these to what’s currently in her store.

4 Ever was a very special kit to me.  I created it in November 2010 to celebrate my new marriage.  This kit ushered in the change from Libby Weifenbach Designs to Libby Pritchett Designs.

At the crop was from May 2011. (I think I, Britanee, still have this kit too! I loved that white alpha.)

Blackbird was my take on a grungy emo style kit way back in August 2009.  I had no idea that this would be just the starting point of a style that I’ve grown to love.

lweifenbach-chickenfried-preview

Chicken Fried was a kit for a winner of my inspiration contest.  She requested a kit based on the song Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band. This was Dec 2009.

Do You Believe In Magic was the first of several Disney-inspired kits that I’ve done.  Released April 2009.

Jen & Dean was a kit that I did for one of my CT members.  She lived in Hawaii and wanted to have a kit scrap her son’s surfer-inspired bedroom.  Released May 2009.

Peanuts & Crackerjax was one of the first kits released during my debut weekend on July 5, 2008.  I still love to do sports kits, but they sure look different now!

Pickles & Ice Cream was one that I did when I found out I was pregnant – Aug 2011.

And here’s what you can find in her shoppe right now!

What do you think?? One of my most favorite things is her titles! And her wordart. Everything is always witty. Her papers take on a life of their own (like the lego & golf papers) and her elements are unique to the kit. I love it all! Do you spy anything that’s changed over the years? Comment below!
