My March happenings…

Hello Sweets, Mary here bringing you my share for the month… I would like to start off with an update on my dd’s Fundraiser I talked about it in January.

I have to say that it was a huge success. With some help from my dd, some of her friends and a rep from Donate Life we decorated the hall together and were done by 3:00 pm. We had to blew up balloons, hang up some decorations, string up some lights and decorated the tables. The dance started promptly at 6:00 pm and went on till 11:00pm.

The hi light of the evening was when she stopped the music and announced the purpose of her dance and thanked everyone for coming out to support her cause. She then played her video asking the Organ Donor families what would you like people to know about organ donation? I honestly got 2 minutes into and just couldn’t watch anymore, I did listen though and it was so heartfelt and moving.

My dh and I applauded all her efforts and are so proud of everything she accomplished and she’s not stressing about it anymore. She still has to present it on Community Day coming up but she says the hard part is over. She raised more than what she thought she would, and was very happy to turn over the funds to the Donate Life Organization.

Here are just a couple of photos from the evening. I wish I could have taken more but I was helping with the drinks & treats plus chaperoning…

I also wanted to share one more thing i did this month. My dh bought us tickets for a one week getaway to his home country, El Salvador. I have to admit this was the third time I’ve been and the first time I had such a truly wonderful time. I was very much at peace considering I really didn’t want to leave the kids behind. It was hard but dh said we need to have time for ourselves and time to just recharge our batteries. So off we went and it was memorable.

Upon arriving our first stop was to eat pupusas, yummmm. The 2nd day was spent @ El Majahual at La Libertad a beach, the 3rd and 4th day we were @ Royal Decameron Salinitas with my dh’s aunt and uncle a resort. The 4th day we spent it at Lago de Coatepeque(lake) and went to stay with my dh’s other aunt and cousin. The 5th day we all went to Playa El Tunco (beach)the nightlife was wow, big tourist area. The 6th & 7th day we spent them eating at local restaurants, shopping in El Mercado and just winding down getting ready for our departure.

Here are a few pic’s from our trip

Thank if you stayed this long and I hope you all have a wonderful fun filled scrappin day 🙂
