4 in ’14 – Jenn Barrette
Another Featured Designer Friday is here Sweet Shoppers, and this week we’re bringing you part two of Jenn Barrette’s spotlight featuring her awesome 4 in ’14 post! I am definitely a self-proclaimed selfie queen. I have had a lot of self esteem issues in the past and use self portraits to celebrate being comfortable in my own skin. I always worry that all my photos look the same, so was so happy with this little collection hwo they show off my silly playful side…as well as being flattering shots.
I try and find the time to do other creative things besides digital scrapbooking.
I love to bake and cupcakes became a bit of a passion of me. I love finding new flavor combinations, and make them look super pretty and yummy!
Party goodies make me so happy. Playing and decoring for my kids birthday and holidays is something that I just love. This photo is from my youngest Lilly’s Cowgirl themed party.
Another thing I do that kinda goes with my baking passion is cake decorating, especially fondant work. I can work for hours making cute little figures and flowers for cake/cupcake toppers. This cake was for my oldest daughter Ava’s birthday.
To go with my love of holidays, I love making fun wreaths for every season/holiday. This is my Halloween wreath from last year. I big fat puffy heart using my glue gun for crafting.
I really like to scrapbook using my own kits. A lot of the time I make a page as I design and it helps me make sure the kit has all my favorite goodies. I love messy painted goodies in the background of my pages, I think these pages show that off.
I have 2 very little tattoos but really really want more! These photos are my inspiration for future tattoos. I love vintage floral work, and plan on my next tattoo to be a collar bone/shoulder tattoo similar to the one in this photo. Isn’t it gorgeous!?! I have always been drawn to feather and bird tattoos and think they really represent my “free spirit”. The stars would be a more personal one for me; when I get to a weight that I am happy with and want to maintain, I want get a series of star tattoos to represent every 10 pounds I lost.
I don’t think it is any secret that I love vintage goodies. I could just move right into any of these photos! I love the way the vintage cameras are displayed, and little whimsical vintage touches to all these rooms!
(top left) Yes I know that Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake are 2 people…but together they are just so freaking amazing. They totally inspire me to laugh more and be silly often! (top right) Mandy Leigh is my favorite blogger! She has such adorable taste in clothing, accessories, and loves to craft the cutest things ever. She inspires me to take time to do little things for myself instead of always focusing on work and family. She has really inspired me to dress in a way that makes me happy. I looked through her portfolio thinking about just how beautiful she was and it made realize that I should judge myself so harshly. Since that moment I have taken time to find fun clothes that make me happy now, instead of always focusing on losing weight first.
