Featured Designer FWP – Southern Serenity Designs
Happy Friday, friends! We’re just about at the end of the first month of 2021. That’s kind of crazy to me. But, in a lot of ways I enjoy the passage of time and gradual changing of the seasons. I hope you’re all enjoying the times each of you are currently in—enjoying whatever is good in your life right now.
Today, I’m excited to introduce Amber of Southern Serenity Designs as our next Featured Designer! This year, our fabulous designers are celebrating some of our most memorable days in our new A Day To Remember series of Featured Designer freebies! Amber’s contribution to this theme is a fabulous set of templates! A Lazy Day is such a fun set of templates focusing on taking a break and getting some rest and relaxation. Take a look!
I think these templates would be great for any stage of life, from napping baby days to exhausted adulthood, and definitely lend themselves to a lot of possibilities.
I asked Amber a few questions about herself, her love for this hobby of ours, and some of her favorite layouts or products:
What is your favorite way to spend a day?
My favorite way to spend a day is pretty simple. I can see it going something like this: waking up late and heading to the kitchen for some toast with jelly and a cup of coffee, before taking a long hot shower. After my shower I toss on my most comfy pajamas and make another coffee and then head to my laptop. My husband would definitely have to be home for the day too, in order for it to be perfect! I would spend some time catching up on my social media and then the forum at SSD. I’d then spend the rest of my afternoon scrapbooking with my cats, while my husband reads or watches tv. That evening, we would order pizza and watch some tv until bedtime!
What kit are you most proud of creating in the last year? Why?
I think I am most proud of my Across the Miles templates because I drew the continent shapes myself with an old bamboo tablet. I worked really hard on them in general, and I really love the way they turned out!
Are there any TV shows that you’ve binge watched recently? Why were you hooked?
YES!! I actually just finished binging the first (and only) season of a Netflix series called The Society. It was soooo good! I loved it because it shows the struggles these kids had when they found themselves suddenly with no adults and no rules. Plus you have the creepy mystery of what even happened and how did all these teenagers end up in a parallell universe. I really got into it and then the season ended with a cliffhanger!
Do you have any pets?
Yes, I sure do! We have 7 cats and 3 dogs!! Actually, right now we are babysitting my brother-in-law’s two cats, so for now we have NINE cats. Ziggy, Buzzard, Fluffer, Holy, Woody, Mama, Atticus, Sister, and Brudder. Our dogs are Oliver, Sam, and Sadie. Ziggy is very much MY cat; he is my baby and he sleeps with me. I call him so many names LOL, Ziggapotomus, Zigfreid, Ziggy Piggy, Zigamus Prime, Ziggie Smalls, The Notorious ZIG . . . the list goes on. I know it’s a little ridiculous but I don’t think anyone with a cat really ever calls them by their actual name haha! Here is a photo of my sweet Zigamus.
