Hot 4 Hybrid – Thanksgiving Place Cards

Good Morning Sweet Shoppers! Col here with another look into the world of scissors and glue.

As many of you probably saw in the forums, it was somewhat unexpectedly decided that my Husband and I would be hosting Thanksgiving this year for my in-laws. Thankfully it’s immediate family only (our house isn’t big enough otherwise!), but it’s still a big deal to me. I whipped up these adorable little place cards to give our table a little something extra.

I used a set of Spellbinders dies to cut out the fun label shape for the cards, but this design could be easily replicated using a simple square or rectangle. I used simple kraft cardstock for the base, and printed out squares of paper from Krystal Hartley’s “Thankfully” kit for the background and the green strip.

Things seemed a plain and ordinary until I added the adorable little turkey from Melissa Bennet’s “Turkey Day” into the mix.

Those fabulous pilgrims would look awesome on some cards too!

I cut a pretty edge onto the green strip using an EK Success border punch, then adhered it to the shaped mat and trimmed it to fit. I added a little paint swatch to the card so that our names would stand out a bit more. And that, as they say, is that! Super simple, and in all it only took me about an hour to do. There’s still plenty of time left before Thanksgiving to add some custom place cards to your table!

Here are a few more pictures, because I just love how these turned out.

Thanks for stopping by for this weeks Hybrid post! I hope some of you are inspired to give this project a try. Next up on my holiday crafting list is a fun banner, which may or may not be coming out as a template sometime next month. You’ll just have to stay tuned for more on that though!

Until next time,

~Col
