Happy Independence Day!!

I am super excited to be here today to share with you why I LOVE the 4th of July! Seriously it may be my favorite holiday. I remember growing up that we would go to the local parade and carnival every year. We would light fireworks in our cul-de-sac as a neighborhood, and everyone spent the day together. Since I got married 9 years ago, I have tried to continue the fun festivities for the 4th. Our little town puts on a great parade with biking kids, horses, local schools, surrounding businesses, antique tractors, and amazing families within the community. There is a baby contest in conjunction with the celebration, and my oldest daughter even was crowned the Princess when she was 9 months old. (She was completely adorable, I have to admit.) After the parade, we head over to the town square for the games, booths, and food. The local kindergarten teacher makes TO DIE FOR cinnamon rolls every year that she sells at the square. It has changed a bit each year. This year are girls are in the parade on a float with their dance team. The love to get all dolled up and throw candy to everyone. After the parade they will be dancing on stage at the square. Then we will head to a family BBQ and some swimming. This evening we have an annual BBQ with our close friends at a park. It is amazing to see how much our families grow each year. After the BBQ it will be off to the fireworks that are put on at the high school. I love the 4th! I love the parade, the food, the smiles on my kids faces. It is always hot, and kind of hectic, but so worth it. The 4th of July is also one more reason to dress my kiddos up, which I LOVE to do.

I also get to choose the LOTW! This isn’t a layout, but I loved this project by Joana1n. She is always making fabulous hybrid goodies!
