30 Days of Gratitude: Day 4

SugarBabe Trish shares something she is grateful for.

I am thankful for my breastfeeding relationship with my youngest child, Mason. I didn’t ever think that breastfeeding would be something that I would be thankful for, but then again I also never thought that it would be something that I would be doing after my child turned one. With my first son, I sort of feel now like I didn’t appreciate how easy breastfeeding was. He took right to it and we never had any issues or problems and we kept at it until he was one, even though I was a full time high school senior. Then with my middle two it was one bad experience after another, and they left me feeling like a failure and with the attitude that I wouldn’t even try if we ever had another baby. I am so glad that I didn’t stick to that idea! After much stress and angst during my pregnancy with Mason over breastfeeding, when the time came, I didn’t even hesitate. I knew I had to try one last time. I am thankful for our relationship with breastfeeding this time, not because of any closeness or bonding, but because of how much it has done to heal me emotionally from all of the scars, pain, and anger that I had been holding inside of me over the horrible experiences I had had with breastfeeding my two children before him.
