Brushing Up on We Love Wednesdays

It seems Im going with the flow here and I can feel a cathartic page is definitely in order! Inspiration is slow coming and with all the fun hunting down some great sites for brushes I have been completely and utterly distracted from the job at hand. On to the good stuff……………
Im a brush junkie but I know I have still only scratched the surface of possibilities with this little tool. I have erased with them, used them as templates to cut papers into embellishments. grunged up back grounds, created little highlights for diamontes and set some starry backdrops for titles and photos. I think the possibilities are as endless as the brush designs themselves and you can create those yourself too (read on for tutorial link)!

My travels around the web started at the PhotoshopSupport site which I had book marked a long time ago. It was such a great springboard that I ran out of time to research any others. It’s been a while since I searched around as I have so many that I hadn’t felt the need. Its funny when you actually start searching how you find out that in fact you dont have enough afterall. So, of course, I spent a little time restocking my supply while doing the rounds! Here are some of my favs:

Seishido, Miss M, Finfond.net, 44Suburbia, ObsidianDawn, Inobscuro (they have a great tutorial on how to create brushes here.) Many of these sites have brushes for a few different programs – most have the image files available and these can be used like templates in other programs to create similar effects. All of these sites have terms of use so make sure you read them if you think you’ll be using the brushes.

Brushes are also available from many digital scrapbooking supply shoppes either individually or packaged as part of a kit. I should worn you though that once you start looking around at these sites, time has a habit of dissappearing!
