Hot 4 Hybrid Wednesday
Hi! SaraL here, with some hybridy ideas to share with you.
Have you been thinking about breaking out your glue stick, but are not quite sure where to start? Well, I have an easy suggestion for you – which I bet you already do when your mojo goes on vacation when planning a layout: Lift some one!
Let me share with you a couple of my hybrid lifts, today.
The first lift is from a LO by our TOTM, Jaclyn Bernardo. Her original LO was called Explore, and this is my take on it using papers from Backyard Crawlies by Lliella Designs, Swooshy Swoony Sentiments from Shawna Clingerman, Libby Weifenbach’s alpha from Berkley McKay and DJB Gimme Space from Darcy Baldwin & Lauren Reid:
Remember, lifting the TOTM hybrid-style earns you an extra point in the Monthly Portfolio challenges!
My second example of a lift is of an actual card, made by HybridBabe, Andrea. You can see the original here, and this is my version, made using With Gratitude by Dani, Lauren & Misty:
Here’s a quick run down on how I did it:
I started just as Andrea described in her blog article last week, by creating a new file in Photoshop with the exact dimensions of my card blank – in my case 15x15cm. I played with the images until I was happy with then and printed them out on a single A4 page.
After cutting everything out, I chalked the edges with brown and black chalk and then stuck everything in place using either a glue stick or double sided tape. Next, I raided my stock of embellishments, and chose ones I thought would compliment the colour pallet of my card the best!
